On November 17th 2016 we'll gather 200 musicians in Brussels to raise awareness regarding the environmental benefits of plant-based foods.
The future of our planet demands that we cut green house gas emissions (GHG) and the easiest and most healthy way to do this is by eating more plant based foods.
Swapping cow’s milk for oat drink, for example, can reduce our GHG emissions by up to 69%*.
Oatly started a petition and then turned it into a giant one-song-playlist. One copy of the song ”summer of 69” was added with every signature. Our aim is to perform every copy live to decision makers in Brussels so that this petition doesn’t pass unnoticed.
As said, we'll be doing this together with http://www.oatly.com , a Swedish oat drink producer. Their sole purpose is dedicated to upgrading the lives of individuals and the general well being of the planet through a lineup of original oat drinks.
Just Like Your Mom and Studiomie at Milan Design Week 2016
From April 12th until april 17th, caterer Just Like Your Mom and creative agency Studiomie will have their own stand at Ventura Lambrate during Milan Design Week in Italy. They will create their own food and design corner at the largest and most prestigeous design fair in the world, which has about 300.000 visitors annually. The two companies are working together to ecologically transport their own materials and those of other designers to Milan.
Lamps, nice food and Bronson Produzioni
It’s the second year that the two companies are invited at Ventura Lambrate. Just Like Your Mom will take care of the catering and Studiomie will present the decoration of her new outdoor lighting. Their Italian partner Bronson Produzioni (also known from Beaches Brew Festival in Ravenna, Italy) is selling its own microbrew beer at Just Like Your Mom’s catering stand.
The green way to and in Milan
To limit the ecological footprint of the transportation to Milan, Just Like Your Mom and Studiomie are sharing their transport with different designers from the Benelux. The goods will be transported to Italy by train in two sea containers, whom they will use in Milan for the lay-out of their food and design corner. The power for the lighting in this corner will be delivered by solar energy powered batterypacks. Just Like Your Mom is a company that is very ecologically conscious. They’ve won numerous international prices for their vegan food. Especially ‘Mom’s Chili Burger’ scores well at festivals and at the Bagels&Beans stores where they’re sold.
Ready for the festival summer
Because of the environmentally friendly character of Just Like Your Mom, the sea containers will get a second life during the European festival summer of 2016. In the containers different artists will play acoustic sessions at a location called ‘Mom’s Living Room’. Mom’s Living Room will be hosted at different big festivals throughout the summer.

Mom’s Chili Burger, the Foodtruck and festival hit of last summer, will be available at all 65 Bagels & Beans locations in The Netherlands from October 15th. Since its launch, the artisanal vegan burger has been a big success for more than a year and half, at festivals all around the world. From Best Kept Secret, Pukkelpop and Gentse Feesten to The Milan Design Week and Way Out West in Sweden, Mom’s Chili Burger makes her audience mouth-watering.
Creator of the burger, caterer Just Like Your Mom has been well known at the best European festivals for years. Looking for fair, vegan but mostly good food, Just Like Your Mom handled both front- and backstage catering, all over Europe. Not only that, ‘Mom’ also collaborated with Summerlabb, a scientific platform focused on sustainable developments. With the release of Mom’s Chili Burger at Bagels & Beans, the company now also makes the transition to the bagel- and coffeehouse.
Brains behind the burger Sandra Smit: “Our chiliburger is 100% vegan and has a full and layered flavor: the flavor of an authentic chili, but shaped as a burger. All 22 ingredients are organic and carefully selected, such as quinoa, kidney beans and paprika. You will also find a small pepper in there, but our burger is absolutely not too spicy for the Dutch. The burger is served with home made Whiskey sauce and freshly made salsa, on a delicious carrot roll. And in the case of Bagels & Beans: on a carrot bagel.”
The burger will be available in all 65 locations of Bagels & Beans. During the late summer Just Like Your Mom can be found at the following festivals:

‘’We are noticing the massive growth which is almost impossible to keep up with. Last weekend we at Mom’s catering were seriously active at these festivals. Thousands of people where fed. The Netherlands is ready for a rocking vegan revolution..’’ Etjen van der Vliet, Just Like Your Mom.
This year Just Like Your Mom is getting more and more international grounds. Earlier this year the caterer was invited by the Milan Design Week, the most prestigious design event in the world. Next to festivals like Gentse Feesten and Le Guess Who, ‘Mom’ is also making her debut on Pukkelpop this year.

“Vegan food is the future! It goes beyond any given scene. Whether you are an artist, designer or business man, the need for healthy and fair food is something we have been endorsing, and it is gaining more and more ground.” Etjen van der Vliet, owner of Just Like Your Mom.
Mom has been invited by Difts 'A Belgian Village' to cater for the 2015 edition of Milan Design Week. Together with established and young designers, Just Like Your Mom will be part of the official program.
Being an established name, Mom has been the vegan alternative for years, working at festivals such as Gentse Feesten, Groezrock, Best Kept Secret, and many more. Both at the main festival as backstage, Mom has been the torchbearer of vegan food. And this year Mom will even flare up the international design industry.
Milan Design Week is the most important and prestige design event in the world: for over 50 years this event holds the start of the new design year. Every year in April the official fair Salone Del Mobile takes over Milan, gathering design professionals from all over the world, where they can discover new designs and new design talents.

In 2015, Mom will be continuing this trend, starting at Milan Design Week. A Belgian Village, will take place from April 14th through April 19th in the industrial area at the Lambrate district.

Lyrics from the song 'Architects' by Rise Against (a direct answer towards all the cynics around us): "Do you still believe in all the things that you stood by before? Are you out there on the front lines, or at home keeping score? Do you care to be the layer of the bricks that seal your fate? Or would you rather be the architect of what we might create?"
So! A big thanx for working with us, supporting us and keeping DIY ethics alive...
Together we still do it!
Greetings! All at team Mom
Mom's catering team starts 2015 in Groningen with Eurosonic/Noorderslag where we will take part in the EPIC conference with our friends in Summerlabb.. Besides that we will be part of the Rock n Roll Kitchens..
After Groningen we will hurry ourselves southbound, towards Utrecht! Do you remember us a few weeks ago at Le Guess Who? This time we will be at DB's for John Coffey's pre-release party.. Utrecht is on the way to Brussels, so we continue our journey to the south for 6000 hacktivists at Fosdem 2015 which will take place at Brussels University..
What happens in March and April can't be released yet so we stay in our beloved Belgium for Groezrock where we will be building an even bigger set up then last edition. And yes we're stoked! A few weeks later you can find us at another loud music festival, this time in the Netherlands at Jera on Air..
And to finish this spring time and jump straight into summer you can find us for sure at Gentse Feesten with a few more set ups then previous years.. So for now every month till August 2015 is covered, but we still have some gaps we could fill with YOUR festival.. If you wanna book Mom's catering team at your festival mail us now!
Summerlabb is the laboratory of festivalland, where universities, research institutions and sustainable companies connect the (technological) innovations in the area of sustainabillity and festivalland! From a complete ecological pavilion, developed by TU Eindhoven, they present the Dutch festival audiance the most innovative ideas.
Mom will be working with the principal of food waste. With years of experience in back- and frontstagecatering at festivals throughout Europe we know what to do with all the remaining food after a weekend of partying. The fastest way sustainabillity isn't the trash can, but the cooking pan! That's why Mom shows at Summerlabb all the possibilties you've got with leftovers... Taste The Food Waste!

In the beginning of April 2014 Mom presented her own Mom’s Chili Burger at the Backstage Hotel in Amsterdam (NL).
In search of new flavours and due to the increase in demand for proper, healthy food Mom decided it was time to take matters into their own hands, thus we created a burger which is good for people, animals and the planet at the same time.
The idea of creating a burger of our own started out in 2012 when Mom won a prize for a self-made chili sauce during the Dutch Chili Fest. After months of testing and tweaking the recipe, it has resulted into an artisan bean burger with no less then 22 natural ingredients
